Talladega Cup Race Postponed

TALLADEGA, AL - RIS - The NASCAR Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway has been postponed until 3 p.m. ET. Monday. The race will air on Fox and Motor Racing Network.

Lightning and rain delayed the start of Sunday’s race. Drivers never got out to their cars. They will have the full 188-lap distance Monday, if weather permits.  The National Wearger Service is nor peomising.  Weather has been a problem after racing resumed due to the Covid-19 virus.  The NWS forcast is as follows:

Monday Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 4pm. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms .

Monday Night   Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
