-- For Immediate Release -- CONCORD, N.C. (March 28, 2019) – Charlotte Motor Speedway will have a slice of Graceland when the Pennzoil AutoFair, the world’s largest collector car extravaganza, rolls into America’s Home for Racing April 4-7. A red 1960 MG MGA 1600 MKI owned by Elvis Presley, the best-selling solo artist in the history of recorded music, will make its first appearance in North Carolina at the Pennzoil AutoFair.

The storied car was prominently displayed in “Blue Hawaii,” a 1961 movie starring Elvis. The world-renowned singer, songwriter and cultural icon enjoyed driving the car so much that he bought it and kept it at his Graceland residence in Memphis, Tennessee. The car is the only machine owned by the legendary musician to also appear in one of his films.

Its previous public displays came in London for an Elvis exhibit at the O2. The car was also on display in Los Angeles as part of a 2002 exhibition saluting Elvis, one of the original 10 inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. Albums recorded by the man known as “The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” have sold more than 146.5 million copies.

During all four days of the Pennzoil AutoFair, Elvis’ MG will share space with a motorized Rocket Ship Car carnival ride, a Ghostbusters tribute car, a 60th anniversary display of Chevrolet’s El Caminos, an exhibit of Bonneville Salt Flats racers and a handful of Ridler Award-winning custom machines.
