Kyle Busch Dominated TruNorth Global 250 to an Anti-Climactic Win

MARTINSILLE- VA – RIS   Kyle Busch won the TruNorth Global 250 Gander Outdoors Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway after leading four times for a total of 174 laps including the final lap that was run under caution. Kyle led the final 66 laps which saw the field slow with two laps to go for a spin by the #44 of Reid Wilson.  Wilson’s truck came to a stop exiting turn four, the field slowed anticipating a caution, but the caution never came until the white flag was flown.  This was Kyle’s 54th truck series race victorying 148 starts.  Ben Rhodes (99) finished second followed by Brett Moffitt (24), Ross Chastain (45) and Stewart Friesen (52).  Harrison Burton was the highest finishing rookie with an 11th position finish. Chastain led two times for a total of 53 laps to lead the second most laps of the race. There were 8 total lead changes among four drivers.

The race was slowed by only 7 cautions (including for end of stages) for a total of 50 of the 250 laps. The majority of the cautions were for simple spins and one major oil spill clean up from a blown engine in the #12 truck of Gus Dean.

Race pole winner Stewart Friesen leads the points standings by 4 points over Grant Enfinger.

The NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series will race next Friday March 29 under the lights at Texas Motor Speedway.
