BRISTOL, TN – RIS – Persistent rain has forced postponement of the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway according to sources at the track. An official announcement of the postponement was made in the drivers meeting at Noon ET today.

The Food City 500 is now scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET start Monday and will be televised live on Fox.

Bad weather has plagued much of the Bristol race weekend, with qualifying canceled on Friday and delays in Saturday’s Xfinity and K&N Pro Series East races.

Bristol has traditionally not been one of pole-sitter Kyle Larson’s best tracks. He has two top-10 finishes in six starts and an average finish of 21.5.

The rest of the top-10 starters: Chase Elliott, Martin Truex Jr., Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch, Jamie McMurray, Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick, who won the most recent race at Bristol last August.
