Kyle Busch Dominates Richmond Xfinity Race

RICHMOND, VA – RIS – Kyle Busch didn’t qualify well and had a rough start, but in the end, he dominated the NASCAR Xfinity race for his sixth win at Richmond International Raceway. Kyle Busch took the lead on pit road after just over 50 laps and showed why he's the NASCAR Xfinity Series career victory leader with a dominant run at Richmond International Raceway on Friday night.

The defending Sprint Cup Series champion led 197 of 250 laps en route to his 84th victory in the series. He also won for the eighth time in 14 starts this season, but for the first time since July 23 at Indianapolis.

The race suffered only two cautions which made the domination easy.  Bush built up leads as large as seven seconds.  His winning margin was over six seconds, with only 11 cars in the lead lap.

“I was down to begin with, never give up I guess,” Busch said after his win. “Just keep going, keep working and keep doing what we can do. Obviously an awesome job by my crew chief, Chris Gayle. A true testament to everyone on this NOS Energy drink Camry, this Toyota was awesome today.”

Keselowski didn’t have anything for the front two JGR Toyotas but was proud of his effort.

“I think the guys did a good job tonight,” Keselowski said. “We had really good execution tonight to bring home the REV Ford Mustang third. It is a little improvement for us here. Of course we want to win, that is kind of our own expectations. We showed progress, which is a good thing, but we got to keep going. We are still quite a way behind the 18 and 20.”

Ty Dillon, Austin Dillon, Daniel Suarez, Alex Bowman and Brennan Poole completed the first ten finishers.
