Kyle Busch Wins Xfinity Race at his Home Track

LAS VEGAS, NV - RIS - For a driver who couldn't usually pull the trigger at his home track, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Kyle Busch is having a heck of a week.  Busch dominated, leading all but one lap, and won the Boyd Gaming 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race.  Only Darrell Wallace, Jr. was able to lead a lap, and that was on Lap 55 during pit stops. The victory was the Las Vegas native's first in the series at his home track.

Daniel Suarez finished second to take over the XFINITY Series points lead for the first time in the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 19 Toyota. Rookie Erik Jones recovered from a pair of early pit-road penalties to take third in the No. 20 Toyota, sealing a 1-2-3 sweep up front by Joe Gibbs-owned cars.

Busch said post-race that had concerns about running short of fuel on the final green-flag charge, but still placed .817 of a second over a closing Suarez at the checkered flag.

"Suarez was definitely faster than us when he got clean track," Busch said. "If roles were reversed, he would have been pulling away from me and I wasn't going to be able to catch him. All in all, just a great day for us in one, two, three and for me to get a victory here in my home town, check one off the list -- that's pretty awesome."

There were only three wrecks throughout the afternoon, but a big one with 63 laps to go ripped the side off of Cody Ware's Chevrolet, destroyed Bubba Wallace's Ford and red-flagged the race.

"Thank the Lord that we all walked away OK," Wallace told Fox Sports. "That second impact was pretty good, too. I am here and talking to you. All good. I hate it for my guys. I was having so much fun here. Ten laps ago I was thinking how good this place was to me. Guess I spoke too soon."

The Xfinity drivers next head to Phoenix International Raceway on March 12th.
