(Hampton, GA – Feb 28, 2016 – RIS) Jimmie Johnson pulled away from the field in an overtime restart to score his 76th career NASCAR Sprint Cup victory in 509 series starts. The race ended under caution for a multi-car crash on the back straight but was slowed by only two cautions during the actual race, one for debris on the back straight and one for Ryan Newman's spin to bring about the overtime restart.

Johnson's win ties him in seventh place with Dale Earnhardt Sr's career record of 76 NASCAR wins. In points, current champion Kyle Busch heads Martin Truex Jr by three points. Busch started last in the field after post-qualifying inspection revealed a discrepancy in the No. 18 Toyota. Busch finished third to Johnson's teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr.
