JOLIET, IL – RIS – Kevin Harvick drove his No. 5 Jimmy John’s Chevrolet to victory Saturday afternoon in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Jimmy John’s Freaky Fast 300 at Chicagoland Speedway. Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, Ryan Blaney and Trevor Bayne rounded out the top five.

Harvick took the lead after a pit stop where he took two tires to, then race leader, Kyle Busch’s four. Bush’s four-tire pit stop pushed him out of the lead and back into the 16th position after he dominated the race leading 141 of 200 laps. He did not have enough time to catch the leader. This was Harvick’s 44th Nationwide victory and his fourth victory and 13th top-10 finish in 2014. This is his third victory and seventh top-10 finish in 11 races at Chicagoland Speedway.

Nationwide Series points leader Chase Elliott extended his lead over Regan Smith to 18 points due to bonus points for leading the race.

Coors Light Pole winner, Brian Scott, finished 9th. Kyle Busch passed Scott for the lead on lap seven.

The margin of victory was 2.108 seconds.

The race was slowed 6 times for 35 caution laps.

There were 15 lead changes among 7 drivers.

The Nationwide Series moves to Kentucky Speedway, September 20.
