Rain Forces Postponement at Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, FL - RIS - Rain that started in early afternoon continued through the day and forced postponement of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway.  the race will be run on Sunday morning, July 6th, at 11:00 AM, weather permitting.  The forecast for Sunday is not very good.  The National Weather Service is calling for a 60% chance of thunderstorms after noon.

It is ironic that the original July race, known as the Firecracker 400 at DIS was held on the morning of July 4th years ago.  Hopefully they will get the race in or at least to halfway tomorrow.
