After a rain out on the Thursday the Vintage Race Car took the track on Friday, Carb Day at Indy.
Saturday is the 1st of two scheduled days for Qualifying for the Indy 500. The 2016 Pace Car Reunion is also taking place today.
This is known as "Fast Friday" where the cars get a little extra boost for qualifying.

Sunday, May 11th was opening day of practice for 98th Indianapolis 500. Monday the 12th, was the 2nd day of practice for the 33 Indy Cars.

Thursday, May 16th, the 6th day of practiced started with a Fuzzy's Triple crown press conference interviewing Mears, Dixon and Carpenter. Almost all the teams were out for practice.

Traditionally, this is bump day at Indy, but with only 9 cars left to qualify, which will fill the field, there will be no bumping today.
Pole Day is easily one of the most exciting days in racing each year. It is the 1st day of qualifying when the quickest cars move to the front of the grid for the 500.

Today all the drivers plus over 130 INDYCAR veteran drivers signed autographs at the speedway.
"Carburetion Day" shorten to "Carb Day", in recent years, is the day on which qualified cars for the starting field get one hour's practice in "Race Trim". The Freedom 100 and the Pit Stop competition, also, take place on this day.
24 qualified yesterday with 9 spots to fill today and then the bumping begins. If you get bumped from the field today the only possible way to get back in is bump someone else. All this fun begins at noon.
